Their sliced is hands down one of the best in Milan, plus this is a historic place, things have remained unchanged as they were back in the ‘70s, so don’t expect anything glamorous or luxurious but if you are looking for a genuine place to enjoy pizza or their superb chicken, this is the place to go.

Want a taste of the “old Milan”? Definitely try this place. All their dishes are inspired by the local culinary tradition, their risotto alla milanese, their ossobuco or their polenta will not disappoint you. Plus they have a big selection of wines, some of which are “pay as you drink”.

They serve the most classic - and delicious- Napoli-style pizza. Whether you choose a plain Margherita (just tomato and mozzarella), the calzone or the fried pizza you can’t go wrong with them. If you go, pay a visit to the inside of this place, it is anni retesting mix between kitsch and true to tradition. The inside reproduces a typical narrow street in Naples, with its balconies, shops and traditional characters, a must see

This place makes a perfect location if you are looking for a romantic dinner; I especially love their patio and garden in the summer. The restaurant used to be an old cascina (a traditional farmhouse) that has now been renovated and graciously combines old and antique details with more modern and sophisticated elements. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. If you are planning on going, just keep in mind you would probably need a car, this place is a bit far from the center and the public transports.

In the heart of parco Sempione, only steps away from the Castello Sforzesco, is this cascina, a cozy and tranquil place where you won’t have the impression to be in the city center. This restaurant and bar is part of a bigger solidarity project aimed at promoting local culture and products and at encouraging more sustainable lifestyle choices. The ingredients are all locally grown and the dishes - all reinterpretation of traditional Milanese or Lumardy traditional dishes - are a fine combination of modernity and tradition.

This is a typical genovese restaurant in the heart of Milan: want to try a great pesto or an absolutely mouthwatering focaccia? This is definitely the place to be. Plus I am in love with the rustic abs yet sophisticated atmosphere of this place

First thing first: this place is AMAZING, from the terrace that offers one of the most amazing views on Milan’s rooftops, to its fish dishes, all prepared with enormous care and competence. This is said the best place to eat fish in Milan, and I cannot disagree. However, quality comes at a price, so do not expect the bill to be cheap here (the average price for two people would be around 160 euros).

Fancy a cheap and delicious Chinese and Japanese restaurant in the heart of the isola district? Yao is the place to go. They serve the classic dishes of the Chinese tradition (soy spaghetti, shrimps ravioli, spring rolls) plus a wide selection of Japanese dishes (including a good and fresh sushi and sashimi). Expect nothing too fancy or sophisticated but if you are hungry and not wish to spend a lot and still want to treat yourself with a good sushi, this is definitely a good place.

Looking for a romantic, intimate place to enjoy one of the best sushi in town? Nishiki is the place. Call them in advance to book one of their privès (small rooms closed with curtains where you can dine in total privacy). This is not a cheap place but, trust me, you will not be disappointed by their care for every detail and their exquisite combination of exotic and more traditional tastes.

There is not much to say about this place: their traditional style pizza, their welcome with an iced glass of Prosecco and a small appetizer made of “pasta cresciuta” (a typical Neapolitan finger food very similar to pizza dough), their incredible selection of desserts (please, please do not go away without having had one) already say it all. I am in love with everything of this place, above all their curtesy. Do not forget to book as they are always full! A small note: if you don’t like loud places, probably this is not the place for you.
