There’s a faint trace of gunpowder in the air. The wooden token in your hand is your ticket to a bottle of hand-crafted spirits. And the man behind the counter? He’s a Sutler. That was the scene during the 1800s as Sutlers followed Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers from battle to battle. When the armies found a place to fight, Sutlers gave them a place to drink. While times have changed, the job at Sutler’s Spirit Co. is very much the same. As the first distillery in Winston Salem in over 200 years, we craft spirits that are as rich and distinct as the city’s heritage. Our ingredients are locally sourced and our recipes are wholly original. After all, with a name like Sutler’s Spirits, you can rest assured we aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty. Tours and Tastings can be booked online via our Website and Facebook page. We are open most Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Please call to verify since we often travel to events.
