I don't recommend to dine here but it's an absolutely must see place. The interior of the building is a tourist attraction itself. The quality of the food and the service isn't in proportion with the prices but it's worth having a coffee for the visual experience.

The Nyugati railway station is the starting point of trams going to west and north from Budapest. You can use the tram to easily reach Zugló and Kőbánya Kispest metro station within Budapest.
There is a luggage locker within the station building which I don't recommend. There is a safer and cleaner one in the nearby Westend City center.
The kürtőskalács (chimney cake) vendor in front of the main entrance is suspiciously cheap but it's okay quality.

If you plan to reach the airport with the cheap public transport way it's good to know about the KöKI shopping mall. It's at the Kőbánya Kispest metro station where the metro line 3 terminates and you have to change to the airport bus 200E. It's an average shopping hall with air conditioning, food court and clean toilets.
