Peace and quiet

- 5 minute walk - One of my favorite parks in the world - It has a couple of cafes where you can sit and have tea - It has a fun little lookout point high up and a lovely pond - It has part of the Petit Ceinture, the old, abandoned train line - It is big so you could walk around it for an hour or more

Bakeries in the area

- There are many bakeries nearby, including two or three between this apartment and the Belleville Metro station - My favorite is a little bit of a walk, so probably not worth it unless you are going across the Buttes-Chaumont Park, but it is delicious: Le Saréden, 54 Rue Petit

Grocery stores

- There is a “Fanprix” grocery store across the street from this apartment (45 Rue Rebeval) - There is a “Carrefour City” grocery store one block away near the Belleville Metro station that is a little more economical (8 Rue de Belleville) - The closes large grocery store that I know of is the Lidl Supermarket (53-55 Bd de la Villette) - The Monoprix is like a Target or Walmart store, if you need more items (133 Rue de Belleville)

Pharmacy and bank

- There is a pharmacy on the corner of my building that can be helpful for some emergencies - There are two branches of the bank Société Générale within five minutes with ATMs

Gym and pool

- I use a gym that I really like that is a fifteen-minute walk from here called “Espace Sportif Pailleron” (32 Rue Edouard Pailleron) - They have a pool that costs about 4 Euros per visit - They have a fitness center with classes like Yoga, Pilates, Cross Fit (they call it Cross Training), Spinning, etc. that you can pay for per class, I think it’s about 10 Euros - They also have an ice rink, but it is always full of school kids - Check their website to know when classes are and when the pool is open: https://www.pailleron19.com/ and click on “Plannings”

Restaurants

I’m not the biggest foodie, but here are some ideas: - Try the many Chinese restaurants between here and the Belleville Metro - I like the African restaurant “Massama Délices” (86 Rue de Belleville) and the Lebanese restaurant “L’Artisan Libinais” (91 Rue de Belleville) that are on the way to the Pyrénées Metro - There is a McDonald’s a five-minute walk away if you exit this building and go right (1 Avenue Simon Bolivar)
