A beautiful spot with historic Standing Stones.
A stunning island (a Buddhist Retreat) which has rare breeds grazing on it. A steep walk over the top of the island with amazing views. A real get-away from it all place accessible by a small ferry.

Silver Sands beach is our favourite on the island - accessed via steep steps as you come into Kildonan from the East (before you come to the Kildonan Hotel).

Turn right as you leave the driveway of the house (heading west) a lovely walk through Eas Mor ecology trail to the top of Kildonan on the high road. A lovely quite steep walk via Eas Mor waterfall and library to Loch Garbad.

12 hole golf club with outstanding views - one of 7 courses on the Island - in our opinion the best course! A ticket can be purchased for £110 to play all 7 courses. A nice clubhouse serves coffees/light lunches.

A lovely 9 hole course which is quite hilly set near Glen Sannox (last time I saw a stag up close!) - small tea-room. Perfect for beginners too.

A very friendly club (our boys were members over the years) which has great views of the sea. Quite hilly but only 10 minutes from our house - our eldest son used to play even just a few holes in the evening.

Fantastic swimming pool, children's pool, sauna, steam room etc all open to non-residents from 11am till 4pm daily.

Getting Around
Book ferry crossings to and from Ardrossan on the mainland early - they can be very busy and are subject to the weather!
