Esquimalt has many hidden culinary gems that have quickly become some of our favourite spots in the region! Many of them are within walking distance of Casa Bamboo and are also available on Skip the Dishes or offer food for pickup if you want to enjoy your dinner at home!
Spinnakers is a great local brew pub just a 10 minute walk along the Songhees Walkway along the water. They have a patio, craft beer, and even a complimentary pool table on the top floor!

We love love love the new Driftwood brewery location just a 5 minute walk from Casa Bamboo - take in the incredible under the sea mural or enjoy a flight of craft beer on their patio - we love that they also offer cider and cocktails for non beer lovers AND locally made dumplings and other treats by “Dumpling Drop” in China Town. Driftwood is a must visit while at Casa Bamboo!

Esquimalt and Victoria are becoming well known for their craft and micro breweries - throw on your shoes or hop on your bike to check out these must-sees. If you want to make a day or afternoon of it, we recommend Lighthouse —> Driftwood —> Spinnakers —> Moon Under Water —> Hoyne —> Il Sauvage —> Vancouver Island Brewing —> Phillips Brewpub. This route will take you on a journey through Esquimalt and into the Rock Bay Area before popping you right into downtown Victoria!
