City/town information
Elk Park is a great, small rural town with many family farms. The citizens of Elk Park are very nice and welcoming. The town has a community park to picnic, take a walk or let the kids play for the afternoon. Avery County is the county seat and Avery County is known as the Fraser fir capitol of the industry. We have many Choose and Cut Christmas tree farms in our small town and throughout the county. Elk Park is home to the Elk River Falls...great fishing and hiking, swimming, etc. We are minutes from Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Linville Falls, and the Appalachian Trail. Across the stateline into Tennessee you will find the Roan Mountain State Park, Watauga Lake, and the Bristol Motor Speedway!!! We are a great town to visit!!!!
