Belmont was home to world-famous author, John Fowles, author of The Magus and The French Lieutenant's Woman. Recently restored by the Landmark Trust, Belmont is an example of a maritime villa, a new building type that sprang up in the second half of the 18th century with the rising popularity of sea bathing and holidays by the seaside. Belmont is now a holiday house and is occasionally open to the public.

We are so lucky to have our own cinema in Lyme Regis, showing all the latest films as well as National Theatre Live events. We had a fabulous evening watching Warhorse, broadcast live from London. The cinema was packed and every seat taken, but quite often there is just a handful of people in the audience! I suggest you go early on a rainy day, especially in the school holidays.
Summer 2016 - Sadly, the cinema is currently under reconstruction following a fire, but meanwhile there will be showings of selected films at Lyme Theatre.

The Target Sports Centre offers training facilities at all levels from the novice, the elite including Team GB and Quality Assured Maritime Firearms Competency assessments. We went here to celebrate Mike's 40th birthday and good fun was had by all - children and adults!
