General Store & Liquor Store
Located right beside the government dock, the Bathgate General Store has the basics to help fill any gaps in your groceries or supplies, and has a small liquor selection as well. A 2 min walk from the house.

Swimming
Beautiful small beach located on Ruby Lake. It has free parking, soft sand, and is suitable for small children. Please note that it does get quite busy in the summer time so head there early to secure a parking spot. A 15 min drive from the house. Ruby Lake Resort and its, La Trattoria Italiano restaurant, is just down the road.

Klein Lake is a beautiful and quiet lake, ideal for fishing, canoeing and swimming. The campsites are located all around the lake, and are all drive-in sites. There is on-site supervision. Cell phone reception is hit and miss in most of the campsite.
This lake is home to the rare and endangered Western Painted Turtle, please keep your dog on a leash. There are docks around the lake to prevent degradation of the lakeshore, where the turtles nest. A 10 min drive from the house.

North Lake Forest service RoadKlein Lake is a beautiful and quiet lake, ideal for fishing, canoeing and swimming. The campsites are located all around the lake, and are all drive-in sites. There is on-site supervision. Cell phone reception is hit and miss in most of the campsite.

Mount Daniel is a steep hike on the Sunshine Coast that provides incredible views of the Pender Harbour region. Located in Garden Bay Marine Provincial Park, the trail climbs through the forest to the first peak before descending slightly and heading up to an area near the second peak with several viewpoints.
Search, ‘Vancouver Trails’ online and you’ll be able to look up this specific hike which includes difficulty, elevation gain, dog-friendly, etc.

Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park is located north of Sechelt and is a beautiful area that offers scenic coastal views of the cove and shoreline along the Strait of Georgia. The hike is fairly easy with a few sections that ascend as you make your way up onto the rocks for views of the park.
