Hiking
Mountainside nature area is known for its cascading streams, bedrock tubs & variety of seasonal plants.
Seven Tubs is a beautiful area that I wished I allowed more time to explore. They noted a 1.8 mile easy trail that we attempted in the late afternoon in June. It was stunning and had peaceful trails once you got away from the local swimming hole by the parking lot. We didn't finish the trail, and would like to go back to try again. A few things to note:
1. Wear hiking shoes. There are steep sections in this hike that is difficult even in sneakers.
2. There is one section of the trail with a very steep metal grate steps to go down, and it is very scary looking since you can see through the steps. Children, elderly or those with mobility issues should not attempt this.
3. There are wooden bridges that have rather large gaps between the boards where your foot could easily go through. Be careful. (See picture)
4. Parts of the trail literally goes over smooth rock, which has water dripping over it in wet seasons, so it can be very slippery. Bring hiking poles. (See picture of husband helping son over slippery section.)
5. While people swim there, I don't think I would recommend it due to the slippery nature of the rocks.

Amazing hike. The actual trail is a 2 track service road, so not a through the woods hike per say. Fairly steep and consistent grade. Make sure to check out the Campbell reservoir - it is a good half way point to stop for a rest.

Nice flat straight walking path. One mile in and then you have to turn around and come back. Very buggy, bring your bug spray.

Historic Sites
U.S. train history, documented via steam locomotives, exhibits & rides in a former railroad yard.
The place to go if you have any interest in trains! Mostly vintage steam engines but also some diesel electric locomotives. Loads of hands on stuff. Climb into the engineer's seat and ring the bell! Learn all about rail power and railroading. Take an excursion or a short caboose ride. A super fun place to visit! (Also visit the trolley museum on site!)

Such an awesome experience for my family and I while dining in! We have ordered curb side multiple times and really enjoyed the food. We have tried as a family about half their menu and they never disappoint. We got a table right up against the downtown window and watched the people and cars go by. A must try if you are in the Tunkhannock area. The atmosphere was so peaceful.

Superb pizza every single time and a great relaxed atmosphere inside. Wings are great, although they could use an extra spicy option! Great place, and I highly recommend it!

A fun place for ATV riding. The property is huge, you can ride around all day and not get bored!! Plenty of mud holes and little cut-around. Trails are rough and rocky in spots but marked well enough so you can decide whether or not you want to challenge yourself.
