One of the most beautiful zoos in the country. Busy, tough parking on site at times (you may want to park in the museum district and take the metro and then walk - but be prepared to walk a fair distance unless you transfer to the miniature train at $3 per person. My kids love this option). Our zoo is worth the price of admission and takes several hours to go through. Read on the internet so you can make it to special things like feeding the giraffes or talks for children. Take a picnic and drinks and step out for a minute to eat by the amazing water feature and lake just outside the Main entrance. Check website for rules of what can and can't be taken into the park. I know they don't like drinking straws.

All proceeds benefit non-profit work in arts and education, a cause we can all get behind and this is a great way to do it. Twice a year. Skip the higher prices at the boardwalk and the amusement park style food at NASA and, instead, take the family to the best casual, family friendly restaurant or adult happy hour bar in the entire area. The shrimp po-boy is delicious. The kids meals are hearty after a long tiring day of play and they don't taste like rubber. I have picky kids and they actually eat here! Prices are extremely reasonable. Parking is sometimes busy.

Park off-site in Economy Parking and take the parking shuttles to save money or save up and splurge at the new concierge/valet parking lots in each terminal. Short term self-parking is also available, but often can be full.
