Drinks & Nightlife

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to do a little exploring, head to the Northern Trails Bar and Grill about a half hour away. This is a personal favorite of mine. It is another large open floor plan so it can be a little noisy when it’s busy. The menu is fairly large and is what you would expect from a typical bar menu and I have never had a bad meal there. The wait staff is always fast and friendly and the drinks are typically strong. They do live music and karaoke some nights and have pool tables as well.

El Rancho is the spot to go if you’re craving authentic Latin American and Mexican food. The interior is set up like your average quaint Mexican restaurant. The food is good and they have a fairly extensive menu. From time to time there is even a Mariachi band that goes in there and plays music table side. Pricing is similar to the other restaurants around with most entrees being around $8-$10 and anything with seafood in it will be around $13. Service it typically very good but when busy, it is quite slow and you could potentially wait up to an hour for food.

Turk Lake Restaurant & Bar is kind of like a Friday’s in the way that they have a little of everything on their menu from South of the Boarder selections to burgers, steaks, chicken, fish and pasta. The décor is casual with a laid back atmosphere. There is a lot of TVs around the restaurant; they have quite a few beers on tap, and a great outdoor patio overlooking Turk lake. Most entrees are between $8-$12.
