The bars and restaurants alongside the 'Nieuwe Rijn' canal, all have terras-boats. On a Sunny day, watching the boats cruise by, refreshing drink in hand: best thing ever!

This oldschool, tiny bar is located in a historic butchersshop. You'll notice the querky decoration and the tiles on the walls. It's sometimes a bit crowdy, but definetly worth a visit.

This place is not just a bar, it's an amazing restaurant as well.
They have tons of different belgian beers and good food. Plus: they have a beautifull courtyard/garden!

Sightseeing
The place where Leiden was founded. It used to be a ford/castle on top of the only 'hill' in the area. Now its a charming ruin, with one of the best views over Leiden.

The city hall of Leiden is a historical building, dating back to 15-hundreds. You'll see that the front is different than the rest of the building. In the years between 1600-1700, Leiden was doing really well. The rulers of Leiden wanted to show their wealth by decorating their city hall. They build a beautifulll front, in renaisance style. Unfortunatly they júst did the front, because of lazyness or lack of money, who knows. So the front was made of stone, whereas the rest was still wooden. That meant, that wenn the city hall caugt fire in 1929, in burnt down completely.. exept the front, because that was made of stone.
