Bespoke has a beautiful atmosphere, delicious treats, and top notch coffee. (Their matcha latte is incredible, if you're into that kind of thing. If you're a purist, their black coffee or pour overs are fantastic too.)

If you're seeking an upscale dinner, this is the place to go, hands down. You'll find touristy spots right along the river (high cost, low quality), but this is where the local foodies go for a truly special night out. They also offer the best cocktails in Wilmington, hands down. Go in, tell them what flavors you like (I'm a bourbon girl, liquor forward, with an affinity for citrus, smoke, ginger, and herbs), and they will whip up a drink made special for you. It's an experience.

Don't stand in line at Kilwin's -- head up to the Northside for Boombalatti's (locally owned) ice cream. Interesting flavors, and if you're vegan, their vegan ice cream is soooo goooooooooood.

Fantastic classics, and it's also really easy to eat vegetarian there. (Their vegetarian biscuits and gravy is a game changer.)

Amazing bakery on the Northside, close to Palate and Boombalatti's! Their cream cheese croissant is heavenly. They're open Thursday & Friday from 7am-4pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 8am-4pm.

Savorez (Central American cuisine) is such a treat-- their specials have never let me down, such a truly special mix of flavors. Caylan and I especially love going there for brunch!

Capricho is a hidden gem, a little hole-in-the wall featuring well-priced, authentic Mexican street food -- their platanos, street corn, and tacos are amazing. (Beer Barrio is located in the same area, but in my humble opinion, it's overpriced and not as good.)

Drinks & Nightlife

Fantastic local brewery that specializes in IPAs -- some of the most amazing beer we have ever experienced. If the Long Needle IPA is available, I highly recommend it!

A tried and true Wilmington classic. Best beer selection in downtown, with an old school punk vibe. (Not exactly family friendly.)

The Greenfield area is up-and-coming, and Satellite has a super chill vibe with the second best beer selection in town (second to Cape Fear Wine & Beer). Bluegrass nights on Sundays are a must. (Also, when you get a little hungry, you're right next to a local taco joint and Benny's Big Time Pizzeria.)

SO. MANY. GOOD. BEER. AND WINE. OPTIONS. Very cool outdoor area. Also great place to go to get fancy drink mixers (I refuse to make a gin & tonic with anything but their tonic syrup.)

Fort Fisher is gorgeous -- and if you're looking for a beach away from the tourists, it's less trafficked (and has free parking!). It's dog friendly, and you're a quick hop and a skip to the aquarium!
