Why Drive? Seriously, why? Trains from Teignmouth serve Exeter, London, the North West, Scotland and Cornwall. The short train ride to Exeter (20 mins) takes you out into the sea on this famous watery route, or the other way to Plymouth, Totnes or on to Penzance. Get yourself a Cornwall and Devon railcard for 10 pounds and you'll get a discount 2 adults and children will often go free. As I said, why drive?

Teignmouth Lido is a heated and welcoming outdoor pool. There is at least one qualified lifeguard standing guard throughout every session. Adults only and lane swimming sessions also available.

At only £4 per adult its excellent value, there is a refreshment kiosk and also the use of sun loungers.
