Just across the river and up a hill, Elk Rock Gardens of the Bishop's Close are located on a hillside estate overlooking the Willamette River Peter Kerr started the gardens in 1916 on a 13-acre estate that passed to the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon after his death in 1957. www.elkrockgarden.org

This property is owned by the Episcopal church but is open to the public. Beautiful spot to take a quiet walk and appreciate the trees, gardens, and river/mountain views. Expansive lawn is perfect for a summer picnic. Entry and parking is at the very end of SW Military Lane.

A hidden hillside park, built by those who saw religion through nature. Come here to contemplate. You may have the beautiful park to yourself, it is not well known, but it is well worth knowing. AirBnb is showing the wrong address for this spot. It is at the end of SW Military *Lane*
