Attracts more than half a million visitors every year who want to go volcano watching. Aside from the observatory, you can take a helicopter tour of the park, climb the volcano, hike along the trails, see elk, fish at Coldwater Lake, explore caves, and ride horses at the Eco Park. Distance: 3hr 15min

It's a great place to go hiking. Check out Coldwater Lake as well for an area with more shade, and a good spot for a picnic!

The volcano is located in the Cascade Range and is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc, a segment of the Pacific Ring of Fire that includes over 160 active volcanoes. This volcano is well known for its ash explosions and pyroclastic flows. Mount St. Helens is most notorious for its major 1980 eruption, the deadliest and most economically destructive volcanic event in the history of the United States.

Spectacular, eerie, breathtaking, forsaken.... One of a kind experience of the incredible power of natural forces... You can hike to the volcano. It's like being on the moon.
