This is the closest place you'll find for a quick hike with great views of the mountains and the Denver Skyline. Its about 10 minutes away and the loop will take you about 45-90 minutes depending on your speed and if you take optional paths.

good mountain biking/hiking trail... good views of the snow capped mountains. Maybe a tough hike for kids younger than 4-5 yos...

Hike to the top to see the majority of the Denver south area. Great for biking and the best view for 4th of July fireworks.

About a half mile walk to the trailhead of this awesome open space, another 3/4 of a mile gets you to the best views of Denver and the Rockies in the area.
