In the beginning, the park was the favorite place of the richest and most well-known people in Bucharest, when there was a strict regulation for those who wanted to walk through Cişmigiu. Visitors were not allowed to speak loudly, hatefully, or miserably, and any commercial activity was prohibited. The park can be visited daily and there is no access fee.

More than 30,000 trees and plants were brought from the Romanian mountains, while exotic plants were imported from the botanical gardens in Vienna. Cișmigiu is Bucharest's oldest park and a great place to stroll and enjoy a break from the hectic city.
