Queen Elizabeth Park is the perfect spot for a day out. From swimming and fishing, to walking, cycling or horse riding the multiple tracks on offer, there’s plenty to do and explore. Visit the Wellington Tramway Museum at MacKays Crossing and jump on the tram for a ride to Whareroa beach. Steeped in history, the park also includes pa sites at Whareroa and Wainui beaches and evidence of the 20,000 strong US marine camps from World War II.

Great park for biking and walking. Either take the 'Coastal Track' or the main 'Cycle Track'. The cycle trail goes all the way to Paekakariki. You can drive into Queen Elizabeth Park at MacKay's Crossing, which takes you to a secluded little beach.

Queen Elizabeth Park has something for everyone; stop in at our award winning arrival centre, Ramaroa for information on what’s on offer. We have picnics, sand dunes and wetlands, bird watching, walking, cycling, horse riding trails, a pony club and a historic tram to take you to the beach where you can swim and fish. The tram operates 11:00 am - 4.30pm Saturday, Sunday and Public holidays (except Christmas Day).

QE II Park is between Paekakariki and Raumati. Some excellent running and mountain bike trails, picnic spots and beach access. Check out the Yankee Trail and visit the memorial site or cycle or walk the recently opened cycleway through to Raumati
