Locals only tip: Call ahead and ask to put your name on the list and ask how long the wait is. Have a drink on the patio at our place, and then get to the restaurant 10-15 minutes before the table is going to be ready. Saves a lot of wait time! Or, put your name on the list and walk over to Hamilton's bar for a pint of San Diego's finest microbrews.

Entertainment & Activities
We call this lovely, public swim center in Balboa Park my mom's "country club" because it is so charming and she's there all the time when she visits. There is space for open swim and lanes for laps, the admission is very reasonable, and there are very comfy lounge chairs if you like to sunbathe/read - even the original tile work on the building is swoon worthy!

The #2 bus runs right through our neighborhood and travels along 30th Street (the BEST street in SD for bars, restaurants, and shopping) and Broadway (the main street of downtown). This is a great way to get to the ballpark, nightlife, etc.

Great local watering hole! Fun fact: This is where Joey and I met. We love walking up on Friday night when there's often a food truck out front. We order our food, go in and order a drink, and then have a fun, inexpensive date night in the 'hood.
