Food Scene

One of the most aesthetically pleasing restaurants in Brooklyn. Great place to meet friends for a late bite, good wine, and classic cocktails. An open, exquisitely designed dining room features a curved marble counter bar, and the backroom also functions as a performance space on certain nights. Young, trendy patrons and really cool staff.

Handsomely decorated and very friendly neighborhood coffee shop — that also serves a proper brunch. Table service seating only, so don't take your laptop. The staff are so great and remember everyone's names and faces. The take away baked goods are worth going out of your way. You must get the smoked paprika gougère.

Drinks & Nightlife

Sort of a Crown Heights institution. One of the first hip bars in the area, the Crown Inn now commands a sizeable league of dedicated patrons. Good drinks, not terribly expensive, and a consistently good crowd any day of the week. If you get there before 11 they have a garden in the back.

Arts & Culture

Among other great permanent works and roving exhibitions, the little-known Brooklyn Museum is the permanent home to an important collection of Feminist Art. Don't miss the iconic Dinner Party installation by Judy Chicago (Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, 4th Floor). Check their website for live music, lectures and performances. Admission price is a suggested donation.
