Marker Coffee serves wonderful coffee drinks and make delicious pastries in their in-house bakery. Both sweet and savory selections are available. My recommendation: a dirty chai latte and a cheddar scallion scone.

Eleven 36 is a cute little walk-up window where you can order coffee drinks and breakfast & lunch. There are benches to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. You'll meet lots of neighborhood locals here.

Manhattanville Coffee is a great place to get a cup of coffee and open your laptop. There are plenty of tables to sit and work. The Wi-Fi is fast and the music isn't too loud. They have food options, as well.

Annie 88 Express is a good Chinese food restaurant in this neighborhood. The food is not too spicy. I enjoy the hot wings and French fries from here. They have a few tables to dine in, but you'll probably want to take away.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a gorgeous section of Prospect Park where you can relax among the peaceful flora and fauna. Admission is $12 for adults, but tickets are free all day on Tuesdays and between 10am-noon on Saturdays.
