Great food, our favourite Mexican in the area. Again very local, delicious food, very popular, great atmosphere. Get in early to put your name down, or you might be in for a wait. You'll love the margarita cocktails, prawn tacos, soft shell crab tostadas (my personal favourite), and the pork belly if you can get your order in before they run out!

This is a St Kilda institution. It's fine dining without the pretense. We love the cosy homely feel of this restaurant as it only seats about 40 people. The food and service is impeccable. It is a little pricey but its absolutely worth it. You can't book, so put your name down and head to the back bar, and relax with a cocktail or two in the art deco cosy booths. The chilli Martini's are a high light! This bar is one of St Kilda's hidden gems!

The best Japanese in the South Bay. The quality of the food is exceptional together with the presentation. We often go for the Omakase. Everything we've tried has always been consistently good. It's amazing this place isn't more well known and packed every single night. The food is truly delicious!

Called Uncle, a term of endearment and respect in Vietnam, the restaurant aims to be genuinely Vietnamese, if not meticulously so. That means pate with crackers, steak with chilli and coconut butter - Vietnamese flavours mixed with Chinese and French influences too. Al fresco dining upstairs, but has a bar downstairs. Great venue and has some affordable meals such as pho etc

Cantina is a multi-purpose place containing a bar room, salon, wine shop, canteen, cellar, diner or take away joint. Food is Mexican so expect a focus on organic, healthy ingredients in familiar favourites such as tacos and quesadillas. The bar stocks dozens of beers, tequilas and whiskies, and an extensive list of rum and wine. There's classic cocktails and a range of playful Margaritas, try the strawberry and basil

The St. Hotel is contained in a heritage facade, but the inside was stripped to bare brick, glass and moulded concrete, with blond-wood fittings and the giant neon message “BITE ME” in cursive. The two-storey venue now offers four distinct spaces: a public bar, a dining room, a swanky lounge named The Supper Club and a 200-patron nightclub with a 3am licence.

The George Hotel is an iconic building in St Kilda. Freddie Wimpoles is a bar in the Georges Hotel and is a relatively new venture which has a hunter lodge–style bar, dark timbers, a feature wall of beer cans and antler chandeliers. There are large communal tables if you’re with a big group, square four-seaters if you’re looking for something more intimate, and bar tables and stools if you’re only in for a drink. They stock a good selection of beers and wines. Freddie Wimpoles pays homage to a Frederick Wimpole who purchased The George in 1873, became mayor of St Kilda in 1886 and director of the Melbourne Co-operative Brewing Company
