About 30 mins walk from my apartment. The chef/owner here is quite grumpy/mad(!), but the food is very good, and the lunch menu is very reasonably priced.

About 15-20 minutes walk from my apartment. Nice intimate dining room and friendly, knowledgeable service. Great starters and desserts, and good mains. Small but nice wine list.

Great traditional pub with really nice hearty food. An open fire for the cold winter nights and a lovely aspect outside next to the river for the summer evenings! Also has regular live jazz nights -worth the trip out to the trendy "up and coming" Leith, which is worth a visit anyway if you want to see where a lot of people are moving to in Edinburgh now.

A tiny little pub about 10 mins walk away from the apartment, is great for very affordable & very Scottish small meals. They have a great selection of real ales. Make for great local people watching!
