Gadestatt ist ein traditionelles Maiensäss. Ein Maiensäss ist eine kulturelle Besonderheit der Schweizer Geschichte. So wurden diese einfachen aber wunderschönen Holzbauten früher für die Sommerzeit auf der Alp bewohnt. Von hier aus wurden die Kühe bewacht sowie aus frischer Milch Käse hergestellt.
