It's 1 mile from Goshen College, 45 minutes from Notre Dame and 25 minutes from the Amish town of Shipshewana. The cottage is beside a fruit, nut and berry orchard and gardens. It's adjacent to a city bike trail that links to the Pumpkinvine nature/bike trail. It's close to a train crossing (with whistle) and a busy street.

A completely furnished apartment in the basement of our log home (our main residence) on 5 acres of woods above beautiful Shavehead Lake. Entrance into the apartment through a screened in porch and double French doors provides privacy and space to relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoor landscape. Recapture the feeling of visiting Grandmas house in this cozy quiet home with options in all directions. Drive just 8 miles to any of the many Notre Dame events. Drive 30 minutes to the beach on Lake Michigan or one of many wine country tours. Stay in the neighborhood and play public golf or try one of the 10 new pickleball courts both just 2 blocks away. Hop on the river walk just one block away or just sit on the porch and read a book. Whatever you choose you won’t be dissapointed.

From the backyard you can fish, kayak/canoe, paddle board, enjoy a bonfire, grill, and relax by the river. There's a king memory foam bed, sleeper sofa, and 49" TV. Remote work friendly with spacious workspace desk, fast WIFI, and coffee. The closet has a mini food prep area with mini fridge and microwave, and grill out on back patio. It's a quick 15 min drive to Notre Dame.
