Located on Lake Michigamme, Copper Moose Cottage is an ideal family vacation home. It's just a short convenient walk to the park and playground, Crock and Rocker Boutique, an art gallery, the Moose Drop Inn bar/restaurant, a museum and village library, and many community activities. Enjoy the large windows which lend a panoramic view of the amazing lawn, gardens, and lake. Swim off the dock, fish around Michigamme Bay using the provided kayaks, or play volleyball, corn-hole, or Bocce Ball on the spacious waterfront lawn. In the fall you won't hesitate to cozy-up inside near the propane fireplace on chilly nights. While you can enjoy the modern conveniences like free Wi-Fi, this almost 120 year old home honestly and admittedly does show it's age in ways like slightly slanted floors or crooked doorways. We feel they enhance the character and in no way take anything away from your enjoyment of the home. Think quaint, but comfortably livable. All three bedrooms, laundry room and the half bath can be found on the upper level of the home. On the main floor, you can gather OR spread out in the fully-equipped kitchen, Lake Room including a seating area, dining area, and fireplace, or family room with television and reading nook. The full bathroom, front den with futon, mud room, and a rec room are also found on the main level. When not enjoying the great outdoors, check out the great indoors. The rec room features a pool table that easily converts to play ping-pong, or challenge someone to a game on the electronic dart board. Guests can also take advantage of the many family-friendly board games, books, and DVD's. Just steps out the back door you'll find ample seating and comfortable lounge chairs. Gather around the small metal fire pit to chat or roast marshmallows. Cook meals on the propane grill. The perennial gardens allow you to enjoy fresh cut flowers during your stay and create a beautiful backdrop to this historic home - it's no surprise that this home once featured a bustling flower shop. To welcome you to Copper Moose Cottage, your first breakfast is on us. You'll find English Muffins to toast and top with a jar of Thimbleberry Jam from the UP's Keweenaw Peninsula. TIOGA FALLS CABIN The only place with soul, private access to THE true Tioga Falls! SLEEPS: 6 BEDROOMS: 2 BATHROOMS: 1 *ON THE RIVER (Tioga Falls) *WATERFALL VIEW *VERY SECLUDED - "off the grid" *CANOE/KAYAK INCLUDED *HUNTING ON PROPERTY *PETS FRIENDLY Please keep in mind that the Tioga Falls Cabin/secluded 80 acres experience is not ideal in consideration of the average city person's level of comfort. EVERYONE in your group must be avid, authentic,outdoor-loving people. This is a technology-FREE vacation. Cell phones don't work well at all. It's not for everyone, yet absolutely IDEAL for the right people. In this environment, one unhappy or non-outdoorsy person in the group has a direct, negative impact on everyone traveling together in this secluded space. *TECHNOLOGY-FREE (FREE OF TV, INTERNET, & RELIABLE CELL SERVICE) - just sit back and relax Have you every backpacked or camped in a tent, at any point in your life? Did you love the experience? Please ask this question to everyone in your group. If your answer is yes, then this is the ideal creature comfort step-up you've been looking for. As a backpacker myself, as I age, I find myself deeply appreciating the indoor plumbing and sleeping on a standard mattress that an experience such as staying in this gorgeous, custom-crafted log cabin deep, in the U.P. woods, provides. Sitting on the fully screened-in porch watching and listening to the soothing waterfalls below as you enjoy the amenities from home, feels as though you are truly in the heart of a wilderness oasis. Fish for trout to your heart's content. Canoe down the river. Melt into your vacation within the 80 wooded acres surrounding the cabin and take this opportunity to truly get away from it all. Drive the 2 mile 2-track trail from the main road into this peaceful log cabin. Ideally, it is best to bring a truck, though with good, careful driving, a regular car can make it down the 2 mile-2 track. Still, you will probably bottom-out at least once, and it is hard to avoid the tree branches close to your car. When you are at the Tioga Falls Cabin, it's so refreshing to wade in the water, hike around the property, fish and read a good book. Perfect for the family vacation if the whole family is agile, adventurous and relishing exploring nature. This cabin is perfect for up to 6 adult friends and will be remembered by all. Or it can be the romantic retreat for two (if BOTH people enjoy the outdoors.) It isn't ideal for families with young children, or multiple couples traveling together, as there is only one bedroom with a door. Families with children who love nature, and can entertain themselves without electronic devices will absolutely love it! It is wonderful to fall asleep to the gentle sound of water falls right outside of the screened in porch. Your nature-loving family will love this unique, full custom log (not a kit) home to call home for a week and beg to return again. Perfect privacy and deep relaxation await. Keep in mind that being deep in the woods requires you to be comfortable with nature. Yes, bugs do exist in the woods. Yes, when you open the door in the evening, bugs may get into the cabin. You have to be very conscious of your environment, even though this beautiful cabin has many of the amenities from home. Here you can escape from technology, though some cell phones do work, if you must turn them on. No TV or Internet-- just connecting with nature. Keep in mind that being at a place this secluded brings out everyone in the group's idiosyncrasies. In our personal experience, if even one person isn't a true, adventurous nature-lover, then that energy WILL negatively effect the whole group & your experience. Experiencing the Fall colors at Tioga Falls is incredible. Imagine being surrounded by 80 acres of unique colors. Many photography opportunities are possible. In the Fall, feel free to cozy up to the wood stove with the provided wood. Even though the refrigerator and generator use propane, the cabin is heated by the wood-burning stove, as needed. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ATV: Yes, you are welcome to bring your ATVs. There is plenty of room to park and turn around your trailer as well. Keep in mind that while there are hundreds of miles of trails, while most of the trails are not groomed. Bathroom: The bathroom is a very comfortable size with a standard toilet, vanity/sink and a shower. There is NOT a bathtub at the Tioga Falls Cabin. Please bring your own soap and shampoo. At times, we do have these supplies, yet we do not inventory them weekly. Bed Configuration: Downstairs = 1 Queen Upstairs = 2 Full 2 Twins Blow Dryer: We ask that you please limit the use of your hair blow dyer as it may drain the power enough to inhibit the well from working properly. Boats: Are boats provided? Yes, we normally have 2 canoes awaiting you on the rivers. One on the Tioga River and another on the Sturgeon River. Bugs: Yes, there are plenty of bugs in the wilderness, surrounding the waterfalls and on the 80 private acres. If doors are left open, even for short periods of time at the cabin, then bugs/flies/mosquitoes love to sneak in. We do not spray for bugs, as with the natural landscape, along comes bugs. Depending on our level of rainfall, mosquitoes can be plentiful. Bug spray is highly recommended. Hence, we love the screened in patio porch. If you are at all concerned about bugs, critters or small animals, the Tioga Falls Cabin may be too much of a challenge. It is important to us that all of our guests have a positive experience. Campfires and Fireworks: Please keep your campfires in the provided ring away from the cabin. Plus, we do not allow fireworks at the Tioga Falls Cabin. Cell phone service: Cell phone service is generally unreliable in the Upper Peninsula when you travel outside of Marquette and Escanaba. While it has improved over the years, it still varies by your provider and actually cell phone. Critters: Even though we deep clean the cabin between each stay, at various times, especially after heavy rains, mice do get into the cabin. The Tioga Falls Cabin is in the middle of 80 private acres along the water. Energy: Since the Tioga Falls Cabin is powered by solar (with a generator back-up that we try to keep the use at a minimum), we have to be sensitive to the electrical use. Therefore, there is NOT a TV or microwave. We ask that you please limit the use of your hair blow dyer as it may drain the power enough to inhibit the well from working properly. There are no power lines to look at anywhere you turn. Fall Colors: Generally, the peak time period to see the colors is between mid-September through mid-October. Fishing: There is primarily brook and brown trout in the Tioga and Sturgeon Rivers which surround the Tioga Falls Cabin. It is best to use worms, small trout flies or small spinners as bait. Heat: The wood Stove is the only source of heat at the cabin. To date, it has provided plenty of heat for our guests. Kitchen Supplies: We have many basic kitchen supplies at the cabin. If there is something that you can't live without, I strongly advise you to bring it. We do have a coffee pot, toaster, refrigerator, stove/oven. There is a cast-iron skillet, though keep in mind that the skillet is is washed differently than standard dishes. There is NOT a dishwasher. We normally have dish soap on hand for your use. Propane Refrigerator: Keep in mind that the refrigerator may be a little smaller than most of us have in the city Also, with a propane refrigerator, you don't get the blast of cold air coming out, as you do with an electric fridge most of us have at home. Stove/Oven: 4 burners, yet probably a bit smaller than most of us have a home. Land: There is not a lot of cleared or flattened land around the property. We have a small space around the fire pit. The most clear and leveled land is in the parking area, at the entrance of the cabin, where there is a dirt/gravel parking area. Linens/towels: We do provide the linens for the beds, which are fully made upon your arrival. Also, we provide basic towels. Please bring your own linens if you are particular about the thread count or are bringing a dog who sleeps with you. We provid basic bathroom and kitchen towels as well. Paper products: We do our best to make sure there is plenty of toilet paper and paper towels during your stay. Pet: 1 pet is allowed (no weight limit). Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges a one time pet fee of $50/ stay. Shopping: Where is the nearest grocery store? The nearest grocery store is about 1/2 hour north, in LÁnse. Trails: Yes, there are trails surrounding the cabin and the 80 private acres, yet they are not groomed, nor regularly maintained. It is a rugged adventure. The walking trail to the Sturgeon River is not straightforward, nor does it have a perfect walkway. You do need to have decent mobility skills to maneuver around the 80 acres comfortably. 2 mile Two-Track Entry: Depending on the weather, the 2-track can get quite rough. The 2 mile two-track is never predictable. You'd have to be prepared for a possible adventure. It's not your average cottage experience. You may have to travel the 2 miles at a snails pace, getting out to move a branch of a tree if needed. We have care-takers who drive in and out of the cabin on a regular basis in a regular car, yet we have also seen a storm come through before guests arrive and there are limbs that had to be moved as they drive in. We try our best to keep the road as functional as possible. The road has only been actually impossible in the winter. We are maintaining the road on a regular basis, yet in 2 miles of wilderness, sometimes it's a breeze to get in and sometimes it's a challenge. Waterfalls: The falls are right outside the screened in porch. Still, the terrain isn't simple for a child or a non-agile adult to navigate. Still, if you are truly adventurous, you will love it! I can attest to the fact that it is tons of fun, and the beating of the falls on your back is a fantastic "natural spa" experience. Water shoes are essential. Wood Stove: Yes, there is a wood stove at the cabin. It is the only source of heat at the cabin. Guests have always talked about how toasty they feel with the wood burning stove. Plus, we provide the wood!

REPUBLIC ISLAND SLEEPS: 4 comfortably BEDROOMS: 1 small + 2 tiny (where only a full sized bed can fit comfortably) BATHROOMS: 1 (shower only, no tub, with heated floors) *ON RIVER (Michigamme River) *ONLY ACCESSIBLE VIA WATER (hence the word island!) *EXCELLENT FOR FISHERMEN *JON-BOAT, basic PONTOON (as possible) + CANOE INCLUDED *PRIVATE BOAT DOCK (May-September) *SCREENED IN PORCH *SWIMMING technically possible, yet not easy *PETS are WELCOMED NEW IN 2019: 40 in. Flat screen, Smart TV Escape the ordinary vacation. Relax or be adventurous. Fish your heart out! This historic (1800's), 3 bedroom, cedar log cabin is nestled within a 2 acre rustic private island on the Michigamme River, just 300 feet from the shoreline. Flexibility is key. You will need to row or take the simple pontoon with a basic electric motor over to your own private island. Electricity, running water, a land-line phone, satellite (Direct TV) + DVD and WiFi internet are some of the creature comforts on this rustic island. Enjoy the wildflowers and wilderness. Rustic Decor throughout. High beam ceilings. Kitchen, breakfast bar, bathroom with shower, plus a gorgeous natural wood-burning cobblestone fireplace warms the living room. Linens and towels provided. An open mind and flexibility are keys to fun here. The island is Water-access only. Be your own captain! One of our boats will be waiting for you, as you venture off to the Island. A Jon boat (best in low water), pontoon**NOT guaranteed (best in high water) with electric motor, canoe, aluminum boat are all provided for your sole use during your stay. We try to keep all the boats running at all times, yet Spring and Fall are the times that it is most challenging. If you need a specific boat (i.e. pontoon) to have the fun you dream about, then the Island may not be your best choice. Flexibility is not only a nice virtue, but a necessity. Off-street and alongside road parking. Republic Island is the home of excellent fishing, bird watching (a bald eagle nests nearby), and canoeing. Requirements for Island: You must be able-bodied enough to drive/row the boat/canoe, if needed. Plus you should have decent agility to walk up and down the uneven walkways. A positive, flexible attitude is essential for a good experience. As a Special Education teacher by trade, I wish we could find a way to accommodate all abilities in the Republic Island experience. While you do not need to be an athlete, at least an average level of agility is definitely required in order to have a positive experience for you and your family. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Animals: Yes, there are all kinds of animals that like to roam around the island. While you don't see most of them, you have to be someone who is comfortable in that true rustic, outdoorsy environment. This is not Disney World. We have seen snakes (non-poisonous), mice, squirrels, otters, beavers, skunks and a raccoon. You are on a secluded parcel of land. While we haven't seen any moose, deer or bear actually on the island, it's not an impossibility. We do our absolute best to keep all the critters away and out of the cabin. We do not use Decon within the cabin due to pets and children being part of our family of guests. Fall is the biggest challenge as the little critters, including mice, are looking for a warm place to stay the winter months. We are vigilant about keeping critters at bay, and are always open to suggestions. Bathroom: Even though the Island is rustic, we do have a normal toilet and sink with a neat shower that has you surrounded by the logs of the 1800s. We even have a wonderful, heated floor in the bathroom. The bathroom has the historic drain slope of the room, which was customary at the time of new, indoor plumbing, though we have tried to maintain the historic feel. Beach/Swimming: There is NOT a traditional sandy beach around the Island. Personally, I truly wish there was a way to make that happen. We've done our best to create a peaceful experience, yet being on a flowing river, there isn't a simple way to maintain a sandy beach. My apologies. We recommend that people head into town (2 miles) to enjoy the sandy beach area in Republic when they want to swim in a traditional way on a beach. Plus, to be honestly, the river bottom is generally muddy, so it isn't the ideal place to enjoy traditional swimming. If you are an excellent swimmer, we do enjoy taking the pontoon boat out into the middle of the river, with the 1-2 mph current, jumping in and swimming around, yet I wouldn't recommend that for anyone who isn't a strong swimmer. The middle of the river is 20 feet deep. Boats: Ideally, basic boat knowledge is needed for the island. Still, a ton of patience, a flexible attitude and sense of humor can make it work as well. Generally the SPRING and the FALL are times where pontoon boat use is limited. There will be at least 1 boat available for your sole use, and we have up to 3 boats that may be available. I'm sorry, we can not guarantee which boats will be available for your use during your stay. There will be one of the following boats available (yet no guarantee on which one), there is a : 1. Simple pontoon boat with an electric motor (you must still be able to row, if needed.) We do our absolute best to keep the simple pontoon (with lawn chairs) up and running at all times. Fixing or replacing anything on the Island is a challenge. That is also the excitement of being on an island. We always do our best, but we require flexibility There isn't a key. We use a prop instead of keys. The pontoon isn't fancy at all. It functions like a floating barge. 2. Jon boat (flat bottom) 3. NEW in 2017 (Old Town Canoe) Considering bringing your own boat? Bring an extra dose of patience and flexibility. There is a gravel launch within 1/2 mile and a nice cement launch 2 miles away, right off of MI-95. The Michigamme River is quite rocky, and we've lost a few motors + props in the past 10 years. That is why we only have a simple electric motor on the pontoon. It all depends on the fluctuating water levels. Sometimes your navigation skills are not enough, as the rocks seems to creep up as the water fluctuations are a natural occurrence. We normally have 4 boats for your use during your stay, though at times we have to pull various ones due to the water levels. The jon boat is always our trusted simple boat. ATV's: closest official snowmobile trail is 241, approximately 1.5 miles from the island. Bugs: Yes, there are bugs on the Island. There are mosquitos. The Island vacation is not for everyone. It is for true outdoorsy guests who are flexible and love an adventure, while enjoying many of the amenities of an historic cabin. We've added a screened in porch in 2016 to allow our guests to enjoy the Island scenery, while limiting the impact of mosquitos. Cell phone service: Cell phone service is generally unreliable in the Upper Peninsula when you travel outside of Marquette and Escanaba. Therefore, we have a land line at the cabin with unlimited local and long distance service for your use. We also have WiFi, if you have an iphone, facetime audio is a great way to use your phone if your service isn't strong or nonexistent. Children: Our experience has been that kids either absolutely love or hate the Island experience. The kids who can entertain themselves, don't need TV or electronics for fun and love the outdoors (especially fishing) think they are in heaven. It's the best trip of their lives. On the flip side, I've had even one parent leave early because her kids were so bored and therefore she couldn't relax. Plus, they were scared of every sound and never wanted to leave the cabin. When they found out that we only had 3 channels, they were very upset. I just like to make sure everyone is aware of the pros and cons to the Island experience. It isn't Disney World, yet I've been surprised at how many people have that expectation. It is important to us that our guests have the best experience possible. Again, depending on the ages of your kids, it may be ok. There is just a lot more to consider when we rent to the Island with families in mind. I'll admit that it wasn't the easiest place to be when we had our 5 year old with us. It's getting easier each year, though between 1-4 years old, it was huge challenge. Our little Luke loved to explore and wander. There are steep parts of the island. We just have be extra-vigilant when he is there. Distances: * Parking spot to Island- 300 feet across the Michigamme - BY BOAT * Pictured Rocks: 1 hour and 45 minute drive * Marquette: 45 minutes (northeast) * Ishpeming: 20 minutes * Iron Mountain: 45 minutes (south *Tahquamenon Falls State Park: 3 hours *Mackinac Bridge: 3 hours and 50 minutes away. (205 miles) Dock: The docks are floating docks. Due to the fluctuation of the river levels, we are not able to control, yet do our best to control the placement of the docks. During the late summer/fall, and the Michigamme River can be low and muddy. We advise you to please bring boots, plus your patience between mid-August and October. Fishing: Generally the Island has very good fishing. Small mouth bass, walleye, perch, pike and pan fish are what most of our guests report catching. If you are a trout fisherman, trout can be caught in the upper Michigamme River. Most tributaries have brook trout that flow into the Michigamme, yet it is not a trout stream per se. I would recommend our Tioga Falls Cabin if you are interested in trout fishing. Fishing License: You can purchase your fishing license online at http://www.mdnr-elicense.com/Welcome/Default.aspx The closest place to purchase a fishing license in person is: Coming from the south (Iron River) Peter's True Value of Republic 154 Evergreen, (South) Republic, MI 49879 (906) 376-2032 Coming from the north (Champion) Koski Korners (BP Gas Station): 13401 US Highway 41W, Champion, MI 49814 (586) 582-0960 Fishing poles: I would advise you to bring your own fishing poles to the Island. While you may be lucky and find one or 2 there, we can't guarantee any will be there upon your arrival. Grill: Brand new charcoal grill in 2017! You may get lucky if the previous guest left some, but to be safe we suggest you pick up charcoal on your way there. We actually have both an electric grill and a charcoal grill. Grocery Store: The closest, full-sized grocery store is about a 1/2 hour drive from the cabin, Ishpeming. It is the IGA Jubilee right on U.S 41. If you are driving from Wisconsin/Chicago, the last grocery store is in Iron Mountain. There is a little store in the town of Republic, about 15 minutes from the cabin, yet there isn't a large selection, and the prices are convenience-store equivalent. There is a larger convenience store/BP Gas station on the corner of U.S. 41 and MI-95, about 20 minutes north of the cabin. Hammock: We do have a hammock on the Island. I love it! Enjoy! Internet: Wi-fi is on the Island! Personally, I do think it is good to disconnect from technology for a while, yet I listened to our guests and realized that many do need to check in with work while they are vacationing. Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels. Parking: You can either park your car in the off-road parking spot or alongside River Road. We highly recommend that you pull into the parking space, just in case one of the logging trucks drives by. Still, you can park roadside adjacent to the path leading toward the Island. Pets: *Pets are welcome! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $50/per pet. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the Island with all the water and places to explore. Their food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Space: Our 1100 sq. ft. log cabin on a 2 acre Island, it is ideal for 2-4 people. It is considered very tight for 6 people, and therefore I do not recommend 6 people on the island together. The island experience is unique in that it brings out the true essence in people when they truly have a chance to get away from it all. Still, six different personalities, especially if they aren't in one family unit can bring out conflict. There are people who feel claustrophobic on an island, even though you can literally see your car 300 feet across the river. It takes about 5 minutes to get across in the boat. We have always had very positive feedback from couples and small families. It's an ideal, private get-away. Towels: Yes, we provide towels. It's always good to bring extra though. Washer and dryer: No. It's on my wish list. Wood: Yes, we provide firewood for Republic Island. We will leave you a handful of started logs on the Island. Once you have burned through the starter pieces, you are welcome to get as much wood as you need during your stay in the parking space on the other side of the road, across from the Island. We ask our guests to please let us know if the wood pile is getting low so we can order more wood. Everyone uses firewood at different speeds. Please note: We have had guests find it too taxing to carry the firewood back and forth. From personal experience of carrying a chord over, it can be taxing. Therefore, we are offering a face chord of wood to be delivered directly to the Island for you for an additional $100. Please let us know if you are interested in this option.
This is a 2 acre private island with 1 small cabin. There are 3 tiny bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink, 1 galley kitchen, a living room and a small entry way room. At times, if the water is low, the back of the island appears marshy.
Very private- no cottages within easy view

Explore and roam thousands of acres, with a stunning hand-crafted off the grid log cabin as your home base. The two-story authentic log cabin sits part way up a mountain with updrafts, sunsets, and winds coming in at times. It's on 72 acres of mature forests and many two tracks. There is an 340’ deep sweet well water., 3 bedrooms, and a overgrown garden orchard.
11 log corners, scribed and chinked walls, all carefully and lovingly hand crafted by the owner.  Artisan features include a burl banister and stairs, birds-eye trim, log supported windows in gable, inlayed bird-eye and walnut in hardwood floor, birds-eye kitchen, McCormick rails & porch, and stained glass. These creations were drawn from the Great Camps of the past, and my own gifts.

Handicap Accessible: Must be able to navigate stairs to the 3 bedrooms on 2nd level. Heating Source: Not only do we have the fireplace, yet we do have forced air heat. The Horseshoe Lake Cabin is much more like a house. It is not a rustic cabin. Hunting: We do not allow hunting or shooting (even just at targets) of any kind on the 20 private acres, or the adjoining private property Hot Tub: Year-round amenity. Great fit for up to 2 people. Hunting: Not in the neighborhood, yet on State or Paper Company land in the area. Internet: Not yet. If this is a deal breaker for you, please ask. We may be able to accommodate you. Enjoy this time to unplug for a little while. Kitchen Supplies: Enjoy a small, but full kitchen for your use. Basic dishes, pots/pans, glasses, cups, etc. are provided, including basic kitchen spices. Still, we do not inventory these items, so if there is something specific you would like, we highly recommend bringing it. Linens: Yes, we provide you with basic sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are particular about the thread count of your sheets, let us know, and we will make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. Parking: Plenty of parking on the street and 1 space in the driveway. Pets: Pets are welcome! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $50/per pet for your entire stay. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Privacy: Only inside the ½ duplex. On the other side is ample space which is very quiet. It is similar to apartment living where you share a wall with your neighbor. Space: 2 level duplex Store: The closest, full-sized grocery store is about a 25 hour drive from the cabin, Ishpeming. It is the IGA Jubilee right on U.S 41. If you are driving from Wisconsin/Chicago, the last grocery store is in Iron Mountain. There is a little hardware store with some simple groceries a few blocks walking distance down the street from the Hemlock House. While there isn't normally large selection, and the prices are convenience-store equivalent, the customer service is top-notch. There is a larger convenience store/BP Gas station on the corner of U.S. 41 and MI-95, about 20 minutes North of the cabin. Towels: Yes, we provide towels. Please bring your own beach towels to take to the water. Washer and dryer: Yes. Laundry detergent is provided. Wood: Bring your own. It can also be bought at the local grocer. *NEW ADDITIONAL RENTAL OPPORTUNITY (NOT INCLUDED in the standard rental rate for the Hemlock House) - Rent your own Private Island- Republic Island is a short 5 mile trip away.
This is a 1/2 of a duplex in Republic (South). It is on the Left side of the duplex with a private entrance. There is one shared wall through the home.

Our simple and rustic space just 20 minutes north of Marquette. We encourage and cater to silent-sport type of guests as we have kind and close neighbors on all sides. No shooting, loud off road vehicles, etc. are permitted. - Wood heat only - No electricity or running water (we'll bring 10 gallons up for you though) - Outhouse toilet - Limited parking - Short hiking trail to access of the Yellowdog River
The yurt is a perfect retreat for lovers of peace and quiet, outdoor enthusiasts, artists and the like. It's proximity to Marquette gives it an added bonus of enjoying what our cool little city has to offer.

Located on the pristine shores of Teal Lake offering abundant beauty, wildlife and outdoor activities - Electric motors only allowed, kayaks provided. Quiet, residential neighborhood, conveniently located for day trips in either direction - Picture Rocks in Munising or up to the Copper Country. 12 miles from Marquette, easy walk to local supermarket and public sand beach. About a mile to antique shopping, restaurants, bars and Iron Ore Heritage Trail for biking or hiking.
Love of the 50's and modern design have influenced my 1950's ranch home. I like to share and inspire guests to visit my homeland of New Zealand by infusing kiwiana in the decor also.
Quiet residential neighborhood, walking distance to supermarket and public sand beach. Majority of pubs, restaurants and trails about a mile from the house. Of note also Negaunee is well known for it's antique shopping opportunities and pizza! Public boat launch down the road, again no gas motors allowed on Teal Lake tho'. 2 kayaks available to explore the lake but bring your own fishing poles if you plan to fish. Fisherman will find a variety of fish including small mouth bass, crappie, sucker, pumpkin seed sunfish, bream, bluegill, perch and walleye. Very nice, clean Laundromat about a mile away.

Ausgezeichnete, private Lage an Ihrem eigenen privaten See.

  • Ruhig, friedlich, kein Nachbar in Sicht.

Welcome to the Jasper Street Historic Air BnB in Cleveland Location in Ishpeming, Michigan. The home is across from Jasper Knob with its 120-year -old stone wall. It has 4 bedrooms and a pullout couch and can sleep 8--but more comfortably 4. It has 1.5 bathrooms, with a shower and commode in the basement. The owner is available by phone, text, and email. It is about a mile from restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, and is close to crosscountry skiing, biking, snowmobile, and hiking trails.
The space is vintage, with newly painted kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms, newly carpeted stairs and floors, an artistic mural in the kitchen nook. It has wifi, Roku television (use your own Hulu, Netflix, and Prime subscriptions), but no cable. The spacious back yard leads to the Cleveland Woods, for hiking and biking. Coffee, soap, towels, all provided.
This neighborhood houses the charming Swiss cottage retreat of William G. Mather, of the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company, who commissioned landscape architect Warren H. Manning to design the street and entrance. Thus it is historic and unique. Jasper Knob is across the street. Geology field trips from many universities stop here to view the banded hematite outcrops.

Nestled among the trees , overlooking Saux Head Lake, this stunning guest house offers spectacular views as well as remarkable privacy. Located adjacent to the Noquemanon Saux Head Trails, you can bike or hike in this old growth virgin forest, swim, kayak or canoe the lake, or just relax in this peaceful setting. All this just 14 miles north of Marquette, the "Queen City of the North", with its historic buildings, museums and full calendar of events, festivals, and outdoor events.
Saux Head Lake is a private 80 acre lake with limited development. Our property has 1100 ft. of frontage for only the cabin and our main home. The adjacent trail system has miles of single and double track trails for hiking and mountain biking. We also have a separate guest dock, with kayaks, canoes, and pedal boats free for your use. The lake is excellent for swimming and also has a pike, bass and panfish fishery.
We are located half way between Marquette and Big Bay. It is a great location to explore the nearby waterfalls, trails, and Big Bay area to the north, and Marquette to the south.
