Jack ensures that all aspects of your stay are fine such as a delightful warm home made bread to start your day, that the electric starter gas grill is working, a very clean apartment and all the condiments are available. We appreciated Jack's stories about the area, international travel,and all the information on things to do to enjoy in the area. Only a 25 minute scenic drive to Bar Harbor and Hulls Cove Acadia National Park Visitor Center. We stayed for seven nights and highly recommend Jacks apartment if you are looking for a home away from home relaxing experience for your vacation stay.

We stayed 5 nights at the Jack's house. The house was even bigger and better than expected, and very comfortable to stay in. The house has a very good location. It's about 7 min to groceries, 20 min to Acadia NP. It has a very good kitchen and a very comfortable bed. The deck was great to look at the stars. Jack is an excellent host. He was very friendly and helpful all the time. We got welcome homemade bread for the breakfast. It was so delicious. We felt as we came to visit our good friend. Will definitely be keen to stay there again!

Jack was a great host, happy to give a pointer on a good place to check out or eat at and check in with you as needed but otherwise if privacy is what you'd like he's happy to oblige making it a perfect getaway for a couple celebrating something like an anniversary (like my fiancé and myself as we visited at the end of July 2016), he's found the perfect balance as a host, available at a text if needed and providing the privacy you want renting an entire property, and he's just a super friendly guy. A nice familiar face to see as you explore a beautiful new place. His property would also be perfect for a family of three allowing a bit of privacy for parents in their own bedroom and a comfy couch for a child to sleep on. He keeps a very clean place with an open and airy kitchen and living room, leading right out on to a deck with full patio furniture and a very nice grill if you want to take a night in and enjoy his quiet backyard facing the woods, light a few candles he keeps handy and have a drink (highly recommend the local craft beers) while listening to a bit of music. His location is just far enough off the beaten path of where tourists regularly stay when visiting the area, that'll you'll get the best all the area offers; the peace and quiet of the surrounding woods while just a quick drive on open roads to and from Bar Harbor, Acadia Park, Trenton and Ellesworth. His house also provides plenty of parking, including pulling your car up far enough to the entrance to the guest apartment to unload/load up when you arrive and leave. While also being able to park it out of the way of the house if you plan on taking a day in or taking bikes out (moped and bicycle rentals are everywhere and available for up to a week or longer) opposed to a car. My fiancé and I had a wonderful time and look forward to returning as soon as we can. We can't recommend the property and location more as a wonderful place to stay, and Jack as well as a top notch host.

This place was great and Jack is a fantastic host. Gave us tips on what to see and how to get around in Acadia. The place was big, huge back yard, patio, grill. Out of the busy area and quiet but reasonably close to everything so a drive into the park or Bar Harbor was easy.

What can we say? Well, we have a lot to say about our stay. I can fill this page with praises but I'm going to try to sum it up in a few words. "HOME" We felt like we were home. The open floor plan is a perfect concept for the surroundings. The yard is open and spacious. Though we were there at the end of September we could still see the beauty of the landscape. Jack shows his love for Asian culture in his decor and it is tastefully beautiful. Cozy and the home was larger than the photos suggest. We were in heaven sleeping on that wonderful bed. After a long day of sight seeing the bed was comforting. "WELCOME" That's how Jack made us feel. From my first communication with him to my latest he has made me feel welcome. He has everything you could need while staying there. If he doesn't, he is quick to rectify that. Jack goes above and beyond. I had a few last minute requests and he stopped what he was doing and attended to our needs. Jack is very knowledgable and humerus which makes it a pleaser to speak with him. If you want to chat he will. If you wish to have privacy he is quick to honor that. We enjoyed our stay and will say "if your considering renting this little piece of paradise. Do it, you will have a wonderful experience.

Ami's place was great! Super comfy and cozy, even for four of us. Not a far drive from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, very much enjoyed our stay here! She was very responsive and helpful too. There was no microwave so just know that to heat anything up you'll have to use the oven/stove/toaster oven but not a major inconvenience. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get good value if going to Acadia!

Ami was a pleasure to work with. Quick response & answered questions. Check in was easy and her home is convenient to our visit to Acadia. First impression was the outside needs some sprucing up:) that said it's in a decent area off the main road. Beautiful sunset views. Interior is fine and great value. As one other reviewer noted, it's a work in progress. A couple of finished cosmetics and the place will be great. The bathroom door is quirky and unexpected, (a Dutch door). I would definitely recommend installing blinds on both entrance doors for privacy:) The apartment was clean & odor free which is very important! Thanks for having us and we would visit again and stay at your place.

Fanatastic! John and Charlotte were the most accommodating, sweet, hosts I have ever met, and their treehouse was gorgeous. Location was very romantic, and its roomy and spacious enough for two!

I was traveling with my better half and Betsy and Doug made us feel like at home! They made our stay as pleasant as possible. They gave us very useful piece of advice about Acadia NP alongside with maps, guidebooks and hints making our stay there unforgettable! The whole place was extremely clean and the Wi-Fi worked very good. This place is wonderful and I would recommend it everybody! Thank you for making our stay amazing!

Every first Airbnb experience should be like this! Being our first ever attempt at using Airbnb we were naturally nervous about it. Betsy and Doug went out of their way to make us comfortable. Betsy answered the numerous questions we hurled at her in the weeks leading up to our trip. Once we arrived we were amazed! The apartment is such a cute space! It is an annex off of a charming house, but it has its own private entrance, bathroom and kitchen. It was just like we rented a private house. It was very comfortable and affordable. This place was a total win! The main room is the perfect size for a couple. It contains a bed (a double) fully made with cozy comforters and blankets. It also has a table and chairs for dining or to use as a desk (there is a desk lamp on it). There is also a nice reading chair (with its own lamp) and a fireplace (which we did not need to use during our stay in August). The kitchen has a stove, full-sized fridge, sink, coffee maker, pots, pans, and utensils, as well as plenty of cabinets to place things in. A few staples were provided as a starter, but there are plenty of grocery stores in the area if you plan to cook. The bathroom was nicely laid out. The shower stall is a little tight, but necessary to fit in with the bathroom. Still a great shower and the water was nice and hot. The house is on a quiet side street of Ellsworth. Ellsworth is a good half hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia but it is also the closest location with standard commerce (grocery stores, Wal-mart, Home Depot, fast food and especially DUNKIN DONUTS!). While sometimes at the end of a long day in Acadia we briefly complained about the long drive back but ultimately we appreciated it. Returning from the crowded insanity that is Bar Harbor to a small quiet place of our own was golden! If you have never experienced Acadia you are in for a real treat! The views and scenery are mind-blowing! Bar Harbor, despite its craziness is still quite charming. We definitely recommend the whale watch trip. We saw a few whales and literally hundreds of dolphin! We loved this Airbnb space top to bottom! Betsy and Doug have done such a great job with it and are wonderful and informative hosts. The place comes stocked with a dozen publications about the area including maps, guide books, and suggestions. The next time we plan a trip to Acadia, we will start by looking to book this space again! Highly recommended! P.S. Betsy has a massage therapy practice in the main part of the home and keeps evening appointments (with advanced notice) open for the guests. I took advantage of this and enjoyed it immensely. Combining the beauty of Acadia with Betsy’s effective massage therapy left me completely and utterly relaxed...a great combination!

Betsy was very flexible with arrival times and left the lights on for us. There were multiple books and maps available on the area. Betsy and her husband were very nice and gave us lots of suggestions for the local town of Ellsworth.

My fiancee and I had spent a weekend at Betsy's place. It is exactly as you see it in the pictures,cozy studio, convenient location with parking and of course, great hosts. Even though we weren't lucky to have great weather Betsy and Doug were very thoughtful bringing umbrellas,raincoats and generally providing great hospitality. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place if you're visiting Acadia or the neighbouring towns.

Both Betsy and her husband Doug were very welcoming and had a lot of insight on places to checkout in the area. Loved the town of Ellsworth, was one of our favorite places on our New England trip. The Brick House Annex was just as described and was a great spot to relax before making our way out to Acadia.

Morgan Bay Zendo Retreat Center is a beautiful retreat center and the hosts are very welcoming. We really enjoyed talking with Hugh and Heather. The flowers we found at our doorstep on the second day were a very nice touch. We especially enjoyed the pond right outside of our cabin door. It was a very tranquil scene to come back to at the end of long day in Bar Harbor and Acadia. Definitely a very natural experience and if you aren't comfortable with some of Gods little creatures in an up close and personal way, you may find this location difficult, but if you don't mind that you will definitely enjoy staying here.

The host was very helpful and reached out before our arrival. Allowed for flexible arrival time. The path felt VERY long, especially in the dark with heavy luggage. The room was accurate as described and clean. Bathrooms are no seat, no flush outdoor stallswimming- not in the description. Quiet atmosphere. Definitely a but of a drive to most desirable vacation locations. Feel like we should have done a campground given the price differential and amenities.

Heather met us at the Zendo early after we called and even called us when we missed the sign. The suite retreat was very nice and the adjacent shower was accommodating. The Zendo was SO relaxing. It was the perfect quiet weekend in Maine.

Heather was very friendly over the phone and talked me into the area perfectly. The location is lovely, a quiet retreat full of wildflowers, just minutes from an oceanside trail. The stars at night were breathtaking. Having access to the kitchen was great: it was very convenient and I really loved the natural vegetarian vibe. During their meditation gathering on Sunday morning I bumped into a friend of a friend; how serendipitous! While the park is a bit of a drive (45 min) it was nice stay away from the August weekend crowds.

We enjoyed our stay at Morgan Bay Zendo, it was a peaceful retreat away from the hustle-and-bustle of Acadia National Park, but close enough to get to it easily. Everything was very clean and it was nice to have access to the kitchen and meeting room. I definitely would recommend a stay there.

This is a special offering. I chose this place because of it's proximity to Acadia (~45min), but I think this place is a worthy destination unto itself (esp for things like solo writing retreats). The room is modestly furnished and features a private shower and sink; composting toilets (my first time with these) are a few steps away from the suite; and there's a spacious, bright kitchen. The surrounding grounds are lovely and inviting. I suggest arriving while it's light out if possible-- the entrance to the property will be easier to find and the longish (beautiful) path to the Zendo easier to navigate. If you take a 10 minute walk down Cross Rd, you'll come to a vista of Morgan Bay; can climb down to the rocks and see scores of crabs and baby crabs scuttling around! Also, if you have time, I'd also recommend exploring the townlets southeast of Morgan Bay, such as Blue Hill and Deer Isle.

Sedge was a very communicative host, and handled a tough situation very well. We were arriving late and the previous guest had accidentally taken the key, so Sedge had to trouble shoot and made sure we were able to access the space late at night when we arrived. The space is very clean, and really simple: not particularly homey, but the beds were really comfy, and Sedge left out a bunch of brochures and maps and helpful tips for the area. We can't complain!

Sedge has a great home for air bnb. The house was freshly painted and extremely clean. The host left us coffee and juice which was a nice touch. The beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. Sedge was fast to get back to me and communicated well. It's about a half hour from Bar Harbor and for the time of the year Sedge has a very reasonable rate. The neighborhood was very quiet with no visible neighbors. The house is close to a road so with the windows open you may hear a truck or two at the stoplight but nothing that was too distracting to get good sleep

Hard to find house number, communication/key handoff worked fine.

Host would not answer phone when we needed help locating the house. The house is immediately adjacent to a major highway, with all the noise one would expect. Furnishings were sparse, with barely enough plates and utensils for two to eat. The good is that it was clean, and the beds comfortable.

Loved the Historic Allen House. Serge provided plates, pans, and utencils plus towels which made the stay convenient. Very easy to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia.

Leading up to the reservation, Sedge was very communicative and was even able to accommodate a late check-in in the wee hours of the morning (we got in at 3AM). He sent us detailed directions to ensure we were able to find the house. Location of the house is extremely convenient as its located right by a supermarket (Shaws), several drug stores, as well as late night fast food drive-thrus. I would recommend checking out Sylvia's Cafe nearby for breakfast/brunch. The drive to Bar Harbor is also 20-30 minutes away depending on traffic so not too bad if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to visit Acadia/Bar Harbor. The house itself is partially hidden behind a furniture store and can be a bit confusing if you don't know where to look. Its an attached house but the doors leading to the rest of the house have been locked on both sides so it is truly separated from the rest of the house. The house is clean and decently well-appointed. The kitchen looks to be a recent remodel and plates/basic cutlery are provided along with a coffeemaker. The layout of the house contains two floors with both bedrooms on the upper floors and the living room/kitchen on the 1st floor. The sofa in the living room is comfortable enough to sleep one person. Bathroom is clean and shower has good water pressure with hot water available at any given moment, no complaints. Fresh towels are provided for you. Please note there is NO hairdryer. We had a bit of a mix-up regarding the house being cleaned up before we arrived but Sedge quickly corrected this and was extremely apologetic about the issue as there was a miscommunication with the cleaning agency. He rectified the issue and made sure to follow up with us to ensure everything went smoothly. Overall, would recommend staying here again.

It was spacious, clean, well situated, comfortable with plenty of off street parking. We made some suggestions to Sedge regarding further improvements and he readily accepted them. These premises are ideally located for sightseeing to surrounding areas, such as Acadia (well worth a visit, especially Bar Harbor).

First and foremost Sedge was a gracious host. I had no issues when it came to communicating with him. The location was excellent as it was within walking distance (less than a mile) from restaurants and pubs located in Ellsworth. The place itself was very nice and clean. Our family was able to enjoy this as our base camp to explore Acadia National Forest (our primary reason for visiting) and we will stay here again if we find ourselves in this location in the future.

Such a wonderful alternative to staying in a motel. Lots of privacy in an immaculate apartment. The beds were comfortable and the amenities generous. Denise is a perfect host and made sure everything was just right. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We really had a great time here, the little to big details made all the difference...Fresh eggs, other essential & non essential treats, fresh tulips, which happen to be my favorites. Really useful advise on where to go, what to do with particular attention to running trails, as I'm in training for Boston marathon, where really appreciated! I loved the back patio & it was lovely sitting there a few mornings it was sunny! We loved Maine & this location was great to explore the surrounding areas of outstanding beauty!

Very beautiful, inside and outside... Donna was a wonderful hostess and to our surprise had an outdoor fire waiting for us on our return from our outings!! Totally recommend to all visitIng Maine. Just remember the name "The Loons Nest"...

If you are reading this review to see what's "wrong", read no further. Homemade muffins and cookies, extra blankets for a cool night, a rocking chair, comfy bed, heat, loons calling both in the morning AND evening and swimming right off the dock just yards away, gorgeous sunrises over the water that you can watch from the comfort of your (URL HIDDEN) was a perfect stay in a very private setting with delightful people nearby. Evening fireside visits were delightful. And Donna went out of her way to help us find things to do, even as far away as Cape Cod on our way up, and great restaurants both near and far!

Donna and Dave were fabulous hosts! They had a binder filled with information about the area and the room was filled with anything you might have wanted/forgotten--from water bottles to bug spray and snacks. As we were up there for a wedding, they were very considerate to ask us if we'd need to borrow an iron. If we're ever back in Maine we'll definitely be booking with Donna and Dave again.

We had the most amazing time staying at the Loon's Nest. If you are looking for a true Maine woods experience, this is it, complete with outstanding hospitality and warmth. The lake pristine, the views are wonderful, and the accommodations are great. It's secluded but also not too far from Acadia/Bar Harbor or downtown Ellsworth. The room is clean and well furnished, a perfect place to relax after a long day hiking. Donna and Dave are perhaps the best hosts we have ever had. We had wonderful conversation with them over a bonfire and s'mores, and were quick to offer suggestions, help, and whatever we needed. We are really glad we chose the Loon's Nest, and can't wait to go back some day.

The cabin was comfortable, the setting was beautiful, and Donna and Dave went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We really enjoyed swimming in the lake, kayaking, and talking to Donna and Dave over the campfire.

The "Loon's Nest" was everything we expected it would be and more! Donna and Dave were fabulous and gracious hosts! Donna equipped the apartment with everything you could ever think of! Dave built us wonderful fires each night and the views from the apartment and the dock were indescribable! The guidance and information they provided us with throughout our stay was extremely helpful for us to make the most of our short, long weekened 8 hours from home! We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and we sincerely hope we can make it back again!

This is a truly great place with wonderful hosts! The property was very clean, spacious, comfortable and had many amenities beyond essential necessities! The place is very private with great views and steps away from the shore. Highly recommend!

Definitely one of the best AirBnBs I've ever been to. The pictures honestly don't do it justice whether from a location standpoint or the quality of the area you get to occupy. On top of that, Bruce and family were quick to respond, very welcoming and also left us all the privacy you'd want staying a bit off the beaten path. The water is about 25 yards from the backdoor and you can walk down to the rocky beach at low tide or can sip your coffee whilst sitting in the Adirondack chairs with a view of the lake from the backyard. It's roughly a 30 minute drive to Acadia park and Bar Harbor but there's also stuff to do in closer towns nearby. Hands down an amazing experience and an EXCEPTIONAL deal. Very highly recommended!

De woning is in een uitstekende locatie binnen voeten van de zee met een spectaculair uitzicht. De vier van ons vonden dat de kamers en de voorzieningen meer dan voldoende met een grote, mooi ingerichte slaapkamers en een goed uitgeruste keuken. Het eetgedeelte en lounge waren groot en had uitzicht op de zee door de ramen langs de woning geven een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht. De dennen tuin leidde naar beneden naar het strand dat was binnen voeten van het huis. Het omliggende platteland was ook spectaculair met gemakkelijk te rijden in alle richtingen. Al met al, gewoon geweldig.

Perfect place to stay in to enjoy the wonders of Acadia. The house was beautifully placed right on the water and the actually living place was cozy and welcoming. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Amy war ein wunderbarer Gastgeber. Sie war in Kontakt mit uns vor unserem Aufenthalt, die uns helfen, die richtige Balance von Aktivitäten während unseres Aufenthaltes zu finden. Das Apartment war genau wie die Bilder zeigen ... gemütlich und ordentlich. Abseits der Touristenpfade, diese Wohnung in einer schönen Nachbarschaft hatten eine schöne zehn Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Hafen. Amy war sehr zuvorkommend. Wir haben zu ihrem Platz, wenn es schon dunkel war. Sie begrüßte uns und zeigte uns den Platz. Sie war leicht zu kontaktieren und während unseres Aufenthalts sehr entgegenkommend. Der Ort ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Mount Desert Island Bereich. Wir waren in der Lage, überall auf der Insel in der Nähe von 45 Minuten erhalten.

Amys Ort war perfekt. Ich würde wieder hier übernachten. Sehr privat, mit der Ausnahme, das Haus ist eigentlich in 3 Einheiten, also nicht völlig privat aufgeteilt. Badewannen- / Duschraum ist mit einer benachbarten Einheit, Schlafsaalstil mit einem Schloss geteilt. Außerdem können Sie Treiben der benachbarten Wohnung zu hören. Aber sehr komfortabel, geräumige Studio-Stil apt. 35 min. Fahrt nach Bar Harbor, aber Ellsworth ist eine schöne Stadt, die nur 10 Minuten ist. weg

Great, private spot, and a good value when you look at what it costs to stay in Bar Harbor! We spent most of our time in Acadia, but cooked breakfast and dinner in the apartment. Very spacious and quiet - great for a rejuvenating vacation.

Neha und ihre Familie waren sehr gastfreundlich und trafen uns, als wir ankamen. Sie zeigten uns rund um die Immobilie und wir fühlten uns wie zu Hause fühlen. Der Ort ist wie aufgelistet und in den Fotos gezeigt, mit viel Platz, um sich auszubreiten und sich in. Es war sauber, hell und komfortabel. Das Haus ist bequem mit einfachem Zugang zu Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park und Southwest Harbor. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten.

Ich besuchte Bar Harbor mit fünf meiner Freunde in die Innenstadt von Bar Harbor und Acadia National Park für 2 Nächte zu erkunden. Wir entschieden uns, in Neha Private Wohnraum zu bleiben und könnte nicht glücklicher mit unserer Entscheidung sein - es ist genau, wie es in der Auflistung beschrieben und in Fotos gezeigt. Wir hatten ein unvergessliches Erlebnis in Neha zu Hause, und hatte alles, was wir für das Wochenende wir uns erhofft hatten nötig. Als wir ankamen, war Neha glücklich, die 6 von uns rund um die Immobilie zu zeigen und gab uns alle Informationen, die wir über den Ort (dh Parkplatz, wifi, Schlüssel, etc.) benötigen. Sie war auch in der Lage, eine Reihe von guten Restaurants Downtown empfehlen, einige Sightseeing Bereichen rund um Bar Harbor, sowie beliebte Wanderwege in Acadia Nationalpark. Nach der Einführung, Neha übergab die Schlüssel weg. Einige könnten skeptisch gegenüber der Ausstand Keller, aber Neha und ihre Familie völlig respektiert unsere Privatsphäre und gebracht uns, wenn nötig. Der Raum selbst war geräumig und sauber, mit allen wichtigen Features. Es gab Tassen, Teller, Besteck und andere Glaswaren, Kaffeemaschine, Kühlschrank und eine Mikrowelle zur Verfügung, wenn Sie sich entscheiden, Essen zu bringen - wir haben nicht das Gefühl, eine Küche für unser Wochenende war notwendig. Er schob uns auch, zu überprüfen, Restaurants in der Umgebung und versuchen, einige leckere Essen (wir Getty Hit für das Abendessen - so lecker - auch von Neha empfohlen)! Wenn Sie an einem Wochenende planen, zu überprüfen, Downtown Bar Harbor und Acadia National Park, ist Neha Heim ideal nur, dass entfernt. Unser Aufenthalt in Neha Platz war meine beste Erfahrung in Airbnb. Sie und ihre Familie waren sehr freundlich, und die Wohnung ist erstaunlich. Es ist ist in einer perfekten Lage, in der Nähe des Acadia Park und Bar Harbor, und seine super geräumig, sauber und komfortabel. Ich werde diesen Ort sehr empfehlen für alle, die die Insel besuchen will, und ich werde wiederkommen mich. Neha war auch super in der Kommunikation bevor wir dort waren, und die Verfolgung der alles, was wir brauchen. Vielen Dank Neha für unsere wundervollen Aufenthalt!

The house is quite, clean and roomy, we have six people and still have enough living space. The location is also very convenient for trips aimed at the national park, it's just 10 min driving from the sand beach and a few of mile from the bar harbor downtown which is fun to walk through. Additionally, there's a good view of the valley from the window, this place can be a nice spot to spend some cool and relaxed summer night. The little kitchen is also a nice addition, we made some tasty lobsters there. The owners are also very friendly and helpful, they give us plenty of useful information and suggestions which make our trip much easier and better. Will recommend this place to my friend.

Neha and her family were very welcoming to us and we really enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor thanks to them. They gave us amazing tips regarding our visit to Acadia NP - which we really appreciated.

Neha and her husband were very good hosts. Neha has a very welcoming and bubbly personality. She liked my kids, gave us very good suggestions on where to visit in Acadia National Park. We spent 4 days at the park and every night, we felt like we were coming home to rest and relax. We even did bonfire on two nights because the weather was cold enough at night. For a family of 6, Neha's place was the perfect place for the kids to be kids and for my wife and I to have our own privacy away from the kids.

Neha was an amazing Airbnb host! I'd stay here again and I'll probably point this listing out if any friends visit Acadia. She provided us many suggestions on what to check out in the area and communicated with me well before, during and after the stay.
