Being in the forest is a cleansing and refreshing experience for your lungs, ears, mind and soul; you don't have to get wet if you don't want to (but oh do I recommend!) What makes this tour unique? Access to the river is immediate, and we will hike only if you feel like it (no 3-hour hikes just to reach the river!). Location is safe and enjoyable. Hora de salida: 3:00 p.m. Empezaremos el recorrido desde el punto de encuentro , donde tomarás el MIO Cable, declarado ruta turística oficial de la ciudad, tendrás una panorámica de la ciudad completa y los barrios aledaños, durante el recorrido por el MIO Cable conocerás algunas de las 4 estaciones temáticas que componen la ruta: Cañaveralejo donde podrás conocer la Historia del Transporte en Cali, en Tierra Blanca sabrás un poco de la Salsa, Lleras Camargo conociendo la Naturaleza y en Brisas de Mayo Mitos y Leyendas. Y por ultimo te llevaremos directamente al barrio a visitar los pobladores locales, conociendo así un poco de la historia de la gente que pudo superar la violencia de la zona y volverlo un espacio positivo.

We will hop on a private transport to visit unique places where local "salseros" hang out - from Fridays to Mondays it is an afternoon salsa bar and sometimes a jam night, weekdays one of the salsa museums in town, a house of a music in vinyls collector or a tasting of a local traditional beverage. As the point is to visit real life events, every day of the week is bit different but we will always go to two to three different places to learn about salsa. Every day we give a little salsa class and a class of instruments used in all local salsa parties like the cowbell and maracas. We will also go to a restaurant where you have the chance to order food or drinks (not included in the price) while listening to the stories of why Cali is the capital of salsa.

During the Street Food Tour we visit a local market to sample local drinks and foods. On our way to the market we walk through some tradicional neighborhoods. Next to that we visit some parks, like Parque Jovita and Loma de la Cruz, an artesian park. We discover amazing street art, some with interesting social messages. Around the beautiful market we learn about the local culture, meet locals and try at least 15 samples of food and drinks. We try tropical fruits like Chontaduro, typical drinks like Lulada, typical food like Ceviche Colombiano and a lot more. The tour includes all the food and drinks samples. The whole experience takes around 3 hours. Our guides have lots of nice recommendations for restaurants, cafes, other tours and things to do in Santiago de Cali! Our meeting point will be "El Gato de Tejada", at 8:00 AM. It's important to start early, so that if the day is sunny, the sun will not be too strong during the climb. Once we are at the top of the mountain, we will spend at least 20 minutes there, catching our breaths, drinking a fresh and delicious natural juice (included), stretching our legs and taking lots of pictures. Then we will go down again on a different and less difficult road and will be done with our experience.

Then we’ll ride about 30 kilometers climbing the Andes Mountain to arrive to the Cristo Rey monument, the bigger and representative monument in Cali. Here we’ll have an exclusive point of view of the city, we can share some knowledge about the city & the culture in the region. Then we'll ride again the bike for 8 kilometers to go more into the mountain until to arrive to La Virgen de Yanaconas, another big monument where you can see the beautiful landscape of the Andean mountains and enjoy the peace that the nature can give you. This will be an exclusive, only for your group, experience where you will visit a real coffee farm located in a very beautiful and special place. We will receive you in our garden where we will welcome you with our own coffee, introduce you to our farm and get ready for our walk. The route begins with a walk downhill along the coffee fields while we explain all the process in coffee cultivation, from planting to harvest. We will stop at some lookout points where a beautiful view of the Roble River canyon can be seen. After a short walk downhill we will visit the "Cascada", a magical, more than 30 metres high waterfall in the middle of a guadua (native bamboo) forest. If you don't mind the cold water you can take a refreshing and energizing bath here. Then, after a little hike through the guadua forest we will reach the Roble River. If the weather conditions are good, we will spend some time here enjoying the cool waters of this nice river, before we start our way back up hill to our starting point where we will show you the coffee's post-harvest process until it reaches your cup. Finally you can relax and enjoy more of our own coffee, local fruits, and some other local refreshments watching the beautiful view. Other things to note Our farm is located at 1270 meters above sea level, so it will normally be warm and humid, around 30ºC (86ºF). Do expect some rain, mud and dirt, insects and bugs, lots of birds, some wild animals... and a lot of fun! The farm is in Montenegro, Quindío, about an hour drive from Pereira or Salento.
