The Akureyri Swimming Pool is one of the most popular attractions in Akureyri. It is open all year round. The pool area includes two 25m outdoor pools, pummeling water jets, water slides, splashpool, an indoor pool, four hot pots, steam bath and an extensive area for sunbathing. All the pools are heated by natural geothermal water .Temps range from a pleasant 27°C to the hottest hot pot, 42°C. The whole facility is maintained to a high standard. In summer 2018 a new hot tub, paddle pool and sunbathing area will open. Addionally a new playground area for kids will open at the Swimming Pool Garden. Akureyri swimming pool is one of Iceland's finest. The development of the site is on going with the aim to make it better than ever before for people of all ages. Whether you are a local enjoying the social swimming pool culture of Akureyri or a tourist looking to unwind, Akureyri swimming pool can offer everyone, young and old a space to have fun and relax. The pool has excellent disabled facilities and accessibility. Opening hours: Winter (29 August - 3 June): Weekdays: 6.45-21.00, Saturdays and Sundays: 9.00-19.00. Summer (4 June - 24 August): Weekdays: 6.45-21.00, Saturdays: 8.00-21.00, Sundays: 8.00-19.30.
