Located nearby the airport at Liberia (and with shuttles from the airport to the sales office), we often rent from Alamo and have great customer service. You can book online, anytime, through their own website or when you book your flight, but just be prepared to purchase all your insurance on top of what your booking says you'll pay (and don't purchase the insurance through a 3rd party provider when booking through your airline ticket provider - they're not recognized in CR). Only purchase the insurance through Alamo (through their website is fine) as they know the local laws and will bill you fairly. We, always, get the highest level of coverage - just for peace of mind, of course.

I've never rented from them, but word on the street is that they're the best. Most companies will try and ding you with expensive insurance, but Alamo is the best for giving you a good price. I've never rented from them though, so I can't guarantee anything !
