The monument is adorned by statues of Ladislao and his sister Giovanna II. Eighteen meters high, it is topped by a king on horseback wielding a sword, something that is rarely seen in a church.

San Giovanni a Carbonara is a Gothic church in Naples, Southern Italy. It is located at the northern end of via Carbonara, just outside what used to be the eastern wall of the old city. The name carbonara (meaning "coal-carrier") was given to this site allocated for the collection and burning of refuse outside the city walls in the Middle Ages.

La chiesa di San Giovanni a Carbonara è una chiesa monumentale a pochi passi da "Vita Partenopea". La chiesa è considerata una delle più belle d'Europa e in effetti è uno splendore con il suo scalone monumentale e la cappella privata di Re Ladislao, da cui prende il nome l'annesso parco
