The scent of seafood greets you as you walk into North Sea from the busy Ogmios Miestas shopping zone north of the city centre. Lobster waiting to be grilled scurry happily around a blue-lit tank built into the wall. Sea-buckthorn-flavoured table water appears immediately and the fresh fishy dishes are rustled up efficiently, served with paprika-inflected home-baked bread. Halibut, shrimp, salmon, scallop, cod and mussels populate the menu. Pan-seared tuna steak will delight even carnivores, while ‘fish snack’ consists of pots of salmon and shrimp pates and diced raw red tuna. The chef makes fine desserts too.
