Awesome hike in Hana. Gorgeous views, bamboo forest, big banyan tree and a GIANT waterfall at the end. Bring your own pack lunch and water. Hike takes about 2-3 hours, in total. They shut the trail down around 3-4pm. So, plan your arrival accordingly.

The Pipiwai Trail is located 12 miles past Hana by mile marker 42. You get a 2-for-1 with the Pipiwai trail: a beautiful bamboo forest and Waimoku Falls at the end of the trail. Its a 4-mile round trip hike but heavily trafficked and good for majority of ages and skill levels. From parking, its about a 1-mile hike to the bamboo forrest. Scenic and picturesque is an understand. From the bamboo forest, it's another mile or so to Waimoku falls. This is a massive 400 ft waterfall. You cant get very close to the waterfall due to dangerous conditions and several deaths but its a sight to behold (obey all park signage and don't get too close).

This trail is one of the many sightseeing and hiking spots on the way to Hana. Take the Pipiwai trail to see the great Waimoku Falls. **If you have visited the Haleakala National Park already, you can use the same visitor pass within 3 days here at the Pipiwai trail (and vice versa).
