The Avenir Museum is part of the Department of Design and Merchandising, in the College of Health and Human Sciences, at Colorado State University. Through exhibitions, courses, and programs, their collection of 20,000 historically and culturally significant artifacts tells global stories of people and their textiles, dress, and interior furnishings - how they are made and what they mean to us all. What began in the early 1950s as a small teaching resource for faculty in the former Department of Home Economics is now a renowned collection housed in an elegant state-of-the-art building open to both campus and community visitors.
