Fort Gains is on Dauphin Island right at the mouth of Mobile Bay. It's the other bookend to Fort Morgan. Together they guarded the entrance to the bay. Very close to the ferry landing and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. If you were going to visit just one of the two forts, Fort Morgan is easier to get…
