You will find a description of how to get to Blåisvannet in summer on visit-lyngenfjord(.com) web site. If you are physically fit, have good clothes and the weather is nice, you may want to go there in winter. Early, when there is not much snow you may walk. Bring skates if you have! If you go skiing, please be careful and stay on the main path as there is a great risk of avalanches in Lyngen.

The Lyngen Alps is well known. Just watching these mountains will make a great impact on most, and its many popular routes for tracking or skiing. Its worth the trip on about two hours by car, including a ferry. Blåisvatnet is a popular route in summer, its about one-two hours walk from the carpark at the foot of the mountain and the route is very well marked. When you come to the water you will also see the glacier that gives the water the clear blue color. Its possible to walk on the glacier ( guided tour, you need to order in advance) In winter there are also several possible guided activities here, like skiing, dogsledding or snowmobile.

After a two hour drive and a moderate hike, you will get to this beautiful glacier lake, straight out of a post card! Take some good shoes, snacks and water, and don't forget your camera. Keep plenty of time for photos and enjoy the view as uch as you can
