The New River is a big draw to downtown Ft. Lauderdale. It follows along south of Las Olas Blvd and has fabulous views of the city and the boats passing by. You can start a walk at Esplanade Park (across from the museum of discovery & science) and walk east towards Las Olas Boulevard. Every 1st Sunday of the month, there is jazz brunch along the river from 10 AM to 2 PM; with several music bands to enjoy. Great place for a picnic.
