The closest Blue Ridge Parkway entrance (and there are several nearby) is about 5-8 minutes away on Buffalo Mountain Road. See the beautiful overlooks North toward Rock Castle Gorge as well as a man made waterfall/dam. If you head south on the parkway you can stop to explore Mabry Mill (and also grab a bite to eat or buy some freshly ground flour or grits or find some unique local art or jewelry). Keep heading south and there is a great travel and gift store stop at Meadows of Dan!
