Nice flat area to take a walk along the lagoon. Some good bird watching. Nice little nature center when open. If you walk from west to the east - you came upon Aviara Golf Course which you can enter have a drink of water (dogs too & a treat) and even partake sitting outside at the restaurant lounge.

Take a beautiful hike around the lagoon. You'll see & hear birds that you've never seen before. If you're a bird watcher, bring your binoculars. Walk ALL the way to the end and you'll see local horses on private property... a rare commodity in this area! It's FREE!

Batiquitos Lagoon is a coastal wetland north of San Diego between the cities of Carlsbad and Encinitas. It is one of the few remaining tidal wetlands on the southern California coast of the United States. batiquitosfoundation.org/ Trail-guides are available for download.
