This s one of the typical old bars in Antwerp. Good music. Good people. Good beer. Good newspapers. Also nice place for a coffee. Local Antwerpiens come here. Some of them drink too much :-) In this street you should visit the bookstores. They are in the beginning of the street, direction Melkmarkt en Lange Koepoortstraat. De groene Waterman, het profijtelijk boekske and opposite de Groene Waterman you have a bookstore that is only open when the owners feels like it, and when he is not in Bar De Kat. But his shop is the best, nicest and most sympathetic bookstore of town. The shop has no name. But is situated at the same side of the street as De Kat, opposite Groene waterman, just behind the town bicycles standard.

They don't serve food but are my favorite place for a drink/break. If Belgium's beer heaven. This is where you should taste/savour your trappist beer.
